Reports have the A's going after free agent shortstop Orlando Cabrera of the Chicago White Sox.

The Oakland Athletics really do not want Bobby Crosby back as their shortstop.

After failing to land Rafael Furcal from the Los Angeles Dodgers, CNNSI is reporting that the A's are targeting Orlando Cabrera, a talented but often considered selfish player.

The A's offered Furcal a four-year $40 million offer, according to published reports.

CNNSI is reporting that the A's are among a few teams looking at the free agent shortstop.

The signing would complete an off season overhaul of the heart of lineup. Earlier this week the A's signed Jason Giambi and earlier in the off season they traded for Matt Holiday.
