Jessica Aguirre co-anchors NBC Bay Area News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. She also hosts Class Action, NBC Bay Area's weekly show about education.
Jessica began her career while attending the University of Miami.
Before coming to the Bay Area nine years ago, Aguirre anchored and reported in Los Angeles and Miami. She earned Emmy awards for her series on the struggles faced by migrant children and for a series on child molesters. Her series on Cuban boat people trying to make it to the U.S. won an Associated Press award.
As the daughter of immigrant parents and fluent in Spanish, Aguirre supports League of United Latin American Citizens and Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. She also supports San Francisco Animal Care and Control and is a member of the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences.
