County Organizations Join Together to Fight Elder Financial Abuse

Eleven Contra Costa County organizations join in educating senior adults about financial abuse. Elder Financial Protection Network (EFPN) in partnership with Communities Against Senior Exploitation (CA$E) will present this one-day event for senior adults. The event will be free of charge for attendees and will include lunch. Join NBC Bay Area's Diane Dwyer as Fighting Back! covers a variety of issues related to financial abuse presented by experts in the fields of law enforcement, social services, health care, and legal services. Topics covered include an overview of elder financial abuse, identifying frauds and scams, consumer protection and how to fight back and local resources available and whom to call. Space for the event is limited, so please RSVP on or before November 13, 2009.

It will be a very festive Christmas at Santana Row this year, with one of the stars of the hit musical Wicked and the one and only Grinch making  special appearances at Santana Row's 8th Annual Light Up the Row, taking place Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Park Valencia on Olin Avenue.  NBC Bay Area's Mike Inouye and Jessica Aguirre will host the event, which kicks off the holiday season and has become a favorite family tradition in the South Bay.

They get to share the stage with professional musicians from the Bay Area and get to perform for an audience that is enthusiastic about the presence of art and culture.

42nd Annual Valle Monte League Holiday Event

With Hi Hello and Ho-Ho-Ho’s, Parade fans, NBC Bay Area viewers and San Jose community members are able to send personal messages to someone special during the live, television broadcast of the San Jose Holiday Parade.  Purchasers can choose from pre-written messages at $12 each or write their own for $22 each with a maximum of 75 personalized characters.  The paperless greeting will scroll on the bottom of television screens during the 2-hour live broadcast on NBC Bay Area, Sunday December 6, at 9AM.  Submission forms can be found on http://www.sanjoseholidayparade.com by clicking on ‘Fan Fun’, then ‘Hi Hello and Ho-Ho-Ho’s.  Other details: the messages will scroll once during the live broadcast in ARIAL ALL CAPS font.
