David Bowie will be remembered lovingly at various San Francisco events and club nights this week.
Bowie passed away on Sunday at age 69 from cancer, his family announced in a statement.
DJ Jim Hopkins of the San Francisco Disco Preservation Society will honor the memory of The Thin White Duke with a free event where he'll mix together Bowie's classic videos on Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at gay bar 440 Castro.
The new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has scheduled a sing-along called The David Bowie Music Video Celebration on Thursday at 10:55 p.m.; proceeds from the $5 tickets will be donated to UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Popular nightclub 1015 will host a David Bowie Tribute Party with DJs King Most, Timoteo Gigante, Deejay Mykill and Michael Milano on Friday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Tickets are $17.50.
