Joe's of Westlake Opens in Daly City Under Original Joe's Ownership

After a two-year absence, iconic Daly City restaurant Joe's of Westlake has reopened under new ownership.

It's now called Original Joe's of Westlake and has had a total remodel under its new owners the Duggan family, proprietors of Original Joe's in San Francisco, who purchased the restaurant in 2013.

According to San Francisco Chronicle, the layout of the restaurant has been preserved, but everything else is new.

“Our goal is that the customers will feel very comfortable coming in," John Duggan told the publication.

Open for lunch and dinner, the menu also feels very familiar with the inclusion of classic options like seafood Louie salads, veal scallopini and, of course, Joe's Special, a scramble of eggs, ground beef, spinach and onions that many a Bay Area kid grew up eating since the original incarnation of Joe's opened in 1956.

There's another Original Joe's in San Jose, but that location isn't affiliated with the other Original Joe's establishments.
