The Jacka Birthday Tribute Planned, Murder Still Unsolved

As a birthday concert tribute to slain Bay Area rapper The Jacka is planned in San Francisco this week, there has still been no movement in solving his February murder.

Jacka's former crewmates Mob Figaz are scheduled to join local rap stars Andre Nickatina, Keak Da Sneak, Cellski and more for an all-ages concert on Wednesday at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.

The Jacka, born Dominic Newton and later changed to Shaheed Akbar, was shot dead in East Oakland on Feb. 2. He was 37 years old.

Oakland Police have not announced any arrests or leads in solving The Jacka's murder over the past six months.

The department and Crime Stoppers are offering up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of his killer.
