John Getzow gets away with another rent-free tenancy

The Balmoral was the latest victim of serial evictee John Getzow
John Getzow stopped paying rent on his room at the Balmoral Hotel and Residence club in February, but just recently moved out.
That's thanks to a settlement he reached with the landlord which essentially forgave the man's debt in exchange for his leaving the premises.
But it's not the first time that Getzow has managed to stay in one of America's most expensive housing markets for free.
Turns out that he's left a trail of evictions across town.
It helps that Getzow comes accross as a successful doctor, dressing the part if not actually having a license to practice in California.
By knowing the ins and outs of the law, Getzow and others manage to work the system in order to get around paying rent or having to move.
That the owner of the Balmoral was happy to give up on collecting $4,500 in back rent just to get Getzow out should give you a sense of just how good he is at what he does.
Jackson West has, surprisingly enough, never been evicted.
