Squaw Valley
The Squaw Valley Ski Resort in Olympic Valley, California, is one of the largest and most high-concept ski areas in the United States, and was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. It is the second-largest ski area at Lake Tahoe (after Heavenly), boasting highly-advanced chairlifts (High speed quads and High speed six packs), as well as the only Funitel in the United States.

- MIke - www.endlesswintersnow.com The terrain says it all. ( GOT KT) ther is advanced and there is Double Diamond and there is the Medussa chute Frog and toads. Ther is NOTHING like the "Palasides Chimney, Box , Extra Pony Express at Heavenly. Heavenly does have a nice view and casinos BUT if you want a BIG Mtn fee like Verbier / Switzerland Expert terrain there is no comparison. Motts at Heavenly is nice but is not in the same league as Silverado. or KT22. Squaw is the place "mavericks" can enjoy themselves and fell like "It's OK" Every mountain with a lift is a good mountain. Every mountain with a lift that services Double Black Diamond terrain is a great mountain. but the mountains Like Squaw, Snowbird, Whistler, & Mammoth in North America are Elite Expert Mountains. Heavenlys Nevada Side is a awewsome "SUPER G " Race slope, gunbarrel is a leg burner But I like the adrenaline cold sweats that go along with slopes approaching 60 degrees ( top of ) Chute 75 SIDE NOTE Squaw lost a patroller "Andrew" about a week ago Whereever you SKI, THANK the next patroller you see! Without Avalanche crews from Alaska to Zermatt , any one of us could be "Taken OUT" www.endlesswintersnow.com ... MORE > Friday, Mar 20 at 3:02 PM
- Nick Jones Squaw Valley is by far the best mountain in Lake Tahoe. It's a giant playground with gnarly steeps. I've lived in Breckeride, CO for the last 5 years now and Squaw is up there with Breck, Keystone. However, since I was born and raised in Souther California i gotta say that no mountain in North America has anything of MAMMMMOTH!!! T-Dogg you know what's up. - Jim Browne Squaw valley is about skiing. Heavenly walks the line between night -life and the actual mountain experience. I go to Tahoe to ski rather than shop, gamble and party myself into a state where I have less interest in doing what a came for--TO SKISquaw valley is about skiing. - T-Dog I love Squaw but nothing can touch MAMMOTH. The highest elevation of ANY resort in CA and always the best conditions. Heavenly sells their season passes way to cheap so every parent in the Tahoe region buys a pass for their kids and Heavenly turns into a big Day Care Facility on the weekends. Squaw is best in Tahoe but for those who KNOW what skiing and riding is all about they know that nothing can touch MAMMOTH!!!! Get some..... ... MORE > Wednesday, Mar 18 at 2:31 PM
