THREE DECADE DANCE: Today ODC Dance Commons Studio celebrates three decades of rump-shaking in their Rhythm & Motion dance workshops with an all-day dance party. Starting at 10 a.m. the ODC anniversary party offers free dance classes of all genres and levels. After the classes are through, stay for the DJ dance party until midnight.

PLAY THAT HORN: Tonight at the Independent move to some Louisiana jazz with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Trombone Shorty was a bandleader by age six and now he's drawn the respected of some of the most iconic legends in jazz. He is equally adept at the trumpet and trombone and will put on a show banging enough to end this crazy year.

WE LIVE TO SING:
Starting at noon join the First Congregational Church of Oakland for their 8th annual Sing For Your LIfe. Rub shoulders and share soundwaves with your community as the church celebrates the passing year from noon 'til midnight.
