12/4-6: Sam Ro Spins This Saturday

Plus, holiday lights and art, embarassing high school secrets and Afro-Brazilian dance

'TIS THE SEASON: In case the holiday songs playing over every store's PA system haven't tipped you off, Christmas is soon approaching! Celebrate with a stroll down the block at the Union Street Fantasy of Lights. This month-long celebration kicks off this Saturday and includes face painters, cupcake decorating, and much more. The cheer begins at 3 p.m.

SAM RO SPINS: This DJ has music mixing in her blood. The combination of turntable lineage and Lindsay Lohan induced fame means an epic party is in the works tonight when Samantha Ronson spins at 330 Ritch. Make sure your leggings are ready to go at 10 p.m.

YOU WERE A GEEK, WEREN'T YOU?: If you'd be embarrassed to have your high school photos and memories dug up, join the crowd at Mortified tonight. Celebrating its fourth anniversary, Mortified gets performers to spill their most hilarious and humiliating high school moments. The shame begins at 8 p.m.

PAINTER'S STRUT: Tonight at 7 p.m. saunter down the street at the Lower Haight Art Walk.  Nearly 30 merchants will participate with art shows, live painting, music and snacks.  [funcheapSF]

THE TIES THAT BIND: This weekend's spectacular dance performance at the Dance Mission Theater is called BOUND together, but don't let that fool you. The members of the Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Cuban dance groups move so freely you'd think their bodies were made out of silly putty. The show runs all weekend, tonight's performance begins at 8 p.m. [SFWeekly]
