GIRLS ON FILM: When an SF State film student realized there were not a lot of women behind the movies she love so much, she set out to do something. Six years later, the sixth annual San Francisco Women’s Film Festival continues with a celebration of women filmmakers and the art they make. The festival runs tonight through the weekend across the Bay Area. For more information visit the festival's website.

THE WORST OF TIMES: Former Beulah front man and San Francisco native Miles Kurosky brings his first solo album to the Bottom Of The Hill, 1233 17th St. in San Francisco at 8.
