Comic geeks unite! It's that time again, when grown-ups who have never stopped dreaming of being super heroes don their costumes and wander through San Francisco. Specifically, Moscone Center.
WonderCon 2010 is officially on. Doors open Friday at noon for the event, which spawned from the wildly popular Comic-Con in San Diego. The show runs throughout the weekend.
Billed as Northern California's largest comic book and pop culture convention, the 24th annual WonderCon features anything and everything for the comic geek in everyone. Displays will show off the classics as well as some of the newer comics on the market.
Featured guests at this year's show include the expected comic book authors, cartoonists and top names in comic books but also some Hollywood names.
The star of NBC's Chuck will be at the event Sunday for a special appearance and showing of exclusive footage. Co-creator/executive producer Josh Schwartz (Gossip Girl) and co-creator/executive producer Chris Fedak will be on hand to talk to fans, along with series stars Zachary Levi (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel) and Adam Baldwin (Serenity), and Joshua Gomez (Invasion).
Jake Gyllenhaal, Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Ali Larter, Jackie Earl Haley Zachary Levi, Adam Baldwin, and Kevin Smith will all be there, just to name a few. (We're not sure if Smith took a Southwest flight to get to to the City.)
Tickets for all three days are $30 in advance; $40 for adults and $15 in advance; $20 for kids. Single-day tickets range from $10-$15 for adults and $8-$5 for kids.
