Free Symphony

The San Francisco Symphony is performing its annual free outdoor concert Sunday at Dolores Park.

Orchestra members will demonstrate their instruments for children in an "instrument petting zoo" beginning at 12:30 p.m. The concert will begin  at 2 p.m.

This is the eighth year the symphony has performed a free concert in the park at 18th and Dolores streets.

This year's show is part of Vive Tu Independencia, the Bay Area celebration of the bicentennial of Mexico's independence movement. Mexican  conductor Alondra de la Parra will lead the symphony as it performs music by  Mexican composers.
