From Shhhh to Will You Marry Me

Shhhh is the sound most commonly connected to libraries, but in San Francisco Tuesday night there will be plenty of talking among adults looking for love. And it might just be at a fever pitch.

The City's main branch is hosting a speed dating night.

The first-ever event filled up quickly and is no longer accepting participants.  Its geared toward adults in their 20s and 30s who will be given about five minutes to interact with a potential mate before moving on to another stranger.

Participants will meet potential dates and friends anonymously. Each person will be given a number which they will use as identification. When matches are made, names and contact information will be given out later after the event.

Tuesday is for straight people. Wednesday lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender folks will be invited to find love.

The events are in honor of Valentine's Day, but if it is successful the library could easily expand the flirtation.
