Maxwell will be back in the Bay Area this weekend.

Maxwell may be the coolest looking guy in soul but the singer still has his insecurities.

Before he finally broke out semi retirement, Maxwell said he needed the encouragement to put out a new album.

"I'm an insecure person at best. ... I feel like going on the road, I got so much inspiration," Maxwell said before he releasing his latest album "BLACKsummers'night," this past summer.

The singer got all the encouragement he needed -- and plenty of love from the ladies -- when he played the Paramount Theater in Oakland last November.

"To have the gift of having people just need me to be onstage ... that was enough for me to make the best album I could make," he said.

And this weekend Maxwell will give the Bay Area the chance to decide for themselves, whether his latest offering rivals the songs that made him a household name, when he performs at the Sleeptrain Pavilion in Concord, Calif. this Saturday. Tickets are still available from Live Nation.

The show will also give woman the opportunity to decide once and for all who the most stylish man in hip hop is. Maxwell will share the stage which Chicago native Common, whose music and fashion stylings may serve a different audience but still manage to rival Maxwell smooth soul offerings.

The show start at 7:30 p.m. For more information visit LiveNation's Web site.
