Walt Disney Family Museum Exhibit Designer Aaron Maestri (pictured) traveled from Sydney, Australia just before the 1 year anniversary to see the museum for his first time. This case, he said, took three days to lay out.
On the last Friday of every month beginning in July, the Walt Disney Family Museum is inviting visitors to experience its galleries in a new light through a monthly after-hours party announced Thursday.
The "Animate Your Night" series will feature music, performance, film screenings and hands-on art activities, according to museum officials.
Each month the after-hours event will have a unique theme, such as "Ready, Steady, GO!" in July, which will celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremonies with a signature cocktail called The Olympian, complimentary pub food, and Disney Olympic classics.
The museum, which is located at 104 Montgomery St. in The Presidio, is also planning to offer a short gallery talk about its 1960 Olympic Torch from the Squaw Valley Olympic Games.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for museum members.
