Sea Lions Return to Pier 39, Sort of

A sign celebrates the 20th anniversary of the sea lions appearance at Pier 39. Today about 300 have returned to Pier 39 following a short absence. Some 300 are now back at the pier. The gathering of sea lions on the docks has become the top tourist attraction for Fisherman's Wharf. And though the number pales in comparison to the 1700 that were there before, it was a reason for a celebration. Today Pier 39 threw a party for the wayward crew... with a brass band, cupcakes, and plenty of visitors.
