She's Not Abba but the Girl Can Sing

Lykke Li comes to the Fillmore

First they gave us Abba and now the Swedes are importing Lykke Li . But don't let your disdain of Abba tribute bands fog your good musical taste buds.

The 22-year-old singer grew up all over the world with her artistic parents. Her time living in Portugal, Lisbon, Morocco, Nepal, India and New York have all shaped her music. She now lives in Stockholm.

She released her first album, "Youth Novels" in 2008 to a marginal response. She had some success with the solo song "Little Bit" in 2007 when Stereogum named her an artist to watch and described her music as "a mix of soul, electro and "powdered-sugar pop."

She also appeared on several compilation albums and the works of some her friends including Swedish musician Kleerup's self titled album, where she lent her voice to the track "Until We Bleed."
