Spring Debut In the Form of Triplet Lambs

Spring time is baby time at San Ramon" Forest Home Farms Historic Park.

The Bay Area may be expecting wet weather this weekend, but spring has arrived in one town. The first baby lambs of the season have made their debut at Forest Home Farms Historic Park in San Ramon.

Lambs are typically born as twins, according to officials at the historic park, so the birth of triplets is a rare occurrence.

The lambs were born prematurely and are being bottle fed by their caretakers, making them even more cute for visitors.

The sheep are cared for by the Sheep 4 Ewe Co-op.

The next time they will be viewable by the public will be April 14. The park and museum are open on the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sheep Shearing Day at Forest Home Farms Historic Park is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 and will feature demonstrations by the sheep co-op.  The event is offered by the San Ramon Historic Foundation and information about the event can be found at www.srhf.org.

Tickets for both days are $5.

In the upcoming weeks, the farm is expecting the birth of more lambs.
