Street Art Finds a Home in Oakland

The third annual Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle comes to Oakland this weekend

Street art is usually done under the cover of night when no one is looking. But in Oakland things aren't always done according to the book.

Twenty-four of the country's most talented graffiti artists will be flown into Oakland's deFremery Park to compete in the third annual Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle this Saturday at 10 a.m.

The urban art competition says it honors and advances creativity in the hip hop arts, and this year's final battle is in collaboration with the Living Word Festival curated by Marc Bamuthi Joseph.

Before the competition the 1:AM Gallery in San Francisco will host The Can Film Festival on Thursday. The festival will show the films "Style Wars" and "Bomb It."
