Where to Find Bay Area Debate Parties

The first and only vice presidential debate is tonight, and Bay Area residents have a number of options for where to go to tune in.

The 6 p.m. debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan is taking place at Centre College in Danville, Ky., and will focus on domestic and foreign policy.

The San Francisco Democratic Party is hosting a viewing party at its campaign headquarters at 2278 Market St.

Another watch party organized by Democrats will be held at the Temple Nightclub at 540 Howard St. Hundreds of people showed up to watch the first presidential debate at the Temple Nightclub earlier this month.

In the South Bay, Santa Clara University is hosting a watch party in Kennedy Commons, near the intersection of Lafayette and Market streets.

A nonpartisan party will be held at the Red Devil Lounge at 1655 Polk St. Comedian Jill Bourque will perform and poke fun at the debate. It is a free event.

The Dutch Goose, at 3567 Alameda De Las Pulgas in Menlo Park, will host a fundraiser for the George Yang for Assembly campaign, and also a watch party for the debate. Tickets for the event are $30, and Young Republicans are $25.

Pinky's Pizza, at 2085 N. Broadway in Walnut Creek, is hosting a watching party with California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro.
