Health Department Ices Cupcake Shop

Baker says he has 80 percent of permits in hand

Witness the scene at Mission Minis, the mini-cupcake purveyor that opened a fortnight ago on 22nd Street.

As it turns out, Mission Minis failed to get any kind of proper permitting, which are rather necessary when it comes to operating restaurants.

Thus, they've been cited and as you can see, both the North Beach kiosk and the two-week-old Mission storefront have been immediately shut down.

Mission Minis now has to actually apply first for a building permit, then the rest of the health permits and such. The City says that the process normally takes a month in normal situations, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, Mission Minis is saying that they're simply closed because they're building a new counter. Sneaky. But they admit they had 80 percent of the proper permits in order and are currently trying to obtain a temporary permit to get back up ASAP. Stay tuned.
