Napa Michelin Restaurant Loses Its Chef, Staff

The chefs at Ubuntu hard at work before they walked out.

Since opening a few years ago, Ubuntu and Jeremy Fox have been repeatedly lauded by the local and national media from Martha Stewart and Michelin to Jonathan Gold and Frank Bruni (who memorably dubbed it "the Angelina Jolie of restaurants"), so Tuesday afternoon's rumblings that Fox—and most of his staff—left Ubuntu after a dispute this weekend come as a surprise.

Then again, despite being an industry favorite, the article also wonders if the inconsistent downtown Napa crowds played a part.

For his part, Fox is one of the most talented young chefs in the Bay (if not the country), so rest assured everyone will watching where he lands.
