New York's Bright Lights Lure Promising Bay Area Chef

San Francisco loses a top young chef today, as Eater NY reports that Jonnatan Leiva—last seen garnering three stars at Jack Falstaff before it closed—has been named the new chef at 10 Downing in the West Village.

Though the onetime rising star chef has been a free agent since Jack Falstaff shuttered in May, there were occasional fleeting rumors that he would remain within the PlumpJack Group, either up in Wine Country at Farm or at the "reconcepting" PlumpJack Cafe.

But alas, the bright lights of New York are calling his name. Good for Leiva, who will now get his big stage; sad for SF to lose such a talent.
