After all the rock and roll legend will be the first to tell you the tiny East Bay suburb hates being called a city. Danville is a town and now it is the new home of the rock legend's newest restaurant.
The longtime Marin County resident opened his fifth restaurant, Maria Maria, in Danville earlier this month. The San Francisco Chronicle describes the food as a reinterpretation of "traditional Mexican cuisine with a contemporary spin."
The restaurant is equipped with the rocker's guitars and chef Roberto Santibañez, who is also involved with Santana's other restaurants. And that's good news for Santana's fans. He says one of his resolutions for the new year is learning how to cook.
