49ers Tout Beauty of New South Bay Digs

The San Francisco 49ers played a game of show and tell Wednesday.

The feature presentation was a model of the new proposed Santa Clara stadium, as well as renderings of the place.

It wasn't the first time the drawings went on display, but it was the first time in a long time and comes as the team tries to garner both political and financial support for the project.

The current price tag for the South Bay stadium is $987 million.  Ground breaking is still a year away with the first kick off coming in 2015.

The stadium is supposed to be built in the parking lot next to the team's current practice facility on Tasman in Santa Clara.  Seating capacity is 65,000, with room for more if the team gets to host a Super Bowl.

The renderings and the model are still not the final design, according to officials. Tweeks are part of the process and will continue until the forklifts arrive.
