Academy of Sciences: SF Architecture Does Not Suck: The New York Times' architecture critic...

The New York Times' architecture critic Nicholas Ouroussoff said his piece on the CA Academy of Sciences. Kickoff: "But if you want reaffirmation that human history is an upward spiral rather than a descent into darkness, head to the new California Academy of Sciences, in Golden Gate Park, which opens on Saturday." The Enlightenment, Mies van der Rohe, Descartes, the Parthanon— the Academy stands in good company; Ouroussoff even tipped his hat at the "magnificent" De Young. Other adjectives include: Stupendous, classic, ethereal -- in other words, he liked it. [NYT]
