The recent spate of tenant justice seems to have struck home for some renting readers. It's brutal out there, folks -- even worse than we'd originally thought. From the inbox:

A couple months ago, the kitchen cabinet in my apartment fell off the wall, breaking almost all of our dishes and bruising up my roommate's arm nice and purple-like. We vigilantly took photos of the damage, even called the realtor who'd rented us the place and the building's manager, who both came and saw the carnage for themselves, took some photos, and assured us that we'd be compensated for the damages. While they did replace the cabinets (and this time bolted them into the studs! imagine that! [even the maintenance dude said they'd completely fucked the installation on the first ones]), they are now refusing to compensate us for our broken stuff. Granted, $400 is probably not worth going to small claims court over, but jeez, is there anything else we can do to get our money back? Um, help!

Yikes. Dear readers, please direct your wisdom to the comments. [Curbed Inbox]For more stories from Curbed SF, go to sf.curbed.com.
