Builder Goes for Gold on Nob Hill

New condo promises stunning views AND parking

In these tough economic times, there are still some developers hoping to find gold in the hills. At least on Nob Hill anyway.

A new four condominium building on 1130 Sacramento Street, is billing itself as the "ultra-luxury building on the square." The square of course refers to the city's iconic Nob Hill, which is known for glamor and glitter.

The hill is famous for the buildings that were originally built by names like Huntington, Crocker, Stanford and Mark Hopkins. Not too many buildings have been built on the top of the hill recently but the 1130 Sacramento Street building, which was originally built in 1993, is the exception to that rule.

The building is one of a few residential buildings on top of Nob Hill and it is just a stones throw from the Fairmont Hotel, the Mark Hopkins Hotel, the Pacific Union Club, Huntington Park and the Grace Cathedral.

The building boasts panoramic views of Angel Island, the Richmond Bridge, Coit Tower, the Berkley Hills and the northern waterfront. The four condominiums in the building, including the penthouse, all go on sale together.

The building also features an underground garage, which has two parking spots per condo. That will come in handy considering there is no other parking in the neighborhood.
