Renzo Piano strolls his new California Academy of Sciences with ABC local today, during final moment of relative calm before the venue's big gala open. 10,000 sketches went into the project, and, oh my, were there challenges: "When talking nuts and bolts, the rain forest is a prime example of the careful planning necessary. The rain forest was a wonderful concept, but it had practical problems, like how to keep the windows from fogging up in the tropical climate." [abc7]
