Former 49ers President “Can't Imagine” Team Prefers Oakland

Trying to decide where you want to put your football stadium is all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

That someone is Carmen Policy, former president of the 49ers and now consultant to the Hunters Point development that still insists on a Niners stadium in its plans.

But the Niners' new leadership has gone on record to say that their plan B is Oakland, not San Francisco.

"My reaction is that I have been placed in a position where I've almost never found myself in the past," Policy told the San Jose Mercury News. "I'm somewhat speechless. I can't imagine the 49ers could think that way."

Could current team president Jed York's relationship with Policy's former boss, and York's uncle, Eddie Debartolo smooth things out?
