Fun with Public Art Update: The Books, They Fly

Hark! They have arrived. A Curbed operative spotted the earnest beginnings of the much-discussed 23 solar-powered tomes aloft at Broadway and Columbus. The much-discussed polycarbonate book flock is set for an official unveiling some time this month. But, like all things SF, they seem to be a bit behind schedule -- the installation, set to be done by Halloween, actually got its start two weeks late. There's no word, though, that the hold-up was due to anything in classic North-Beach NIMBY style.
