Hell Yes!: Rondinone Hits SF With Heady Arts

The undulating aluminum monster faces at 555 Mission's new open courtyard are a bit bigger deal than we gave them credit for earlier today, and if you're planning on dining with San Francisco's real-life Nightmare Before Christmas, you might like some heady background. These new giant heads are by world-renowned giant-head Swiss sculptor Ugo Rondinone. Sound familiar? Dude also designed the infamous techniglowy "Hell Yes!" on the side of New York's infamous New Museum. "Moonrise Sculptures: March, October and December" are near-copies of the six shiny heads Rondinone produced for London's Frieze Art Fair. Tishman Speyer, you're edgier than we ever realized.
