Oakland Makes a Watery Pitch to Keep the A's

If the 49ers weren't so hellbent on ditching San Francisco for a parking lot next to a theme park, we'd say that Bay Area stadiums will forever have to sit at waterfront's edge.

Oakland has proposed three different sites for an A's ballpark, all near Jack London Square, all right by the water. Just like AT&T Park, and just like Lennar's imaginary Niners stadium in Hunters Point.

The A's, for their part, have nothing to say, as they're still studying San Jose and Fremont alternatives too and waiting for the league to make a decision on the viability of any of those stadiums, which should come in a month or so.

The plan calls for the team to pay for the stadium and Oakland in return would pay for land, parking and infrastructure.
