Every once in a while, Curbed SF checks in with the San Francisco rental market. And we do it the layman's way: by scouring Craigslist. For today's episode, we took a spin around the $2500-$3k price range. Verdict: Dicey. Look hard, renters— it's a wildly unpredictable jungle out there.

The Hard Sell: "The remodeled kitchen features AMPLE cupboards, dishwasher, divided sink, & a glorious antique 40" gas stove." Glorious, right.
What: 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom townhouse
Where: 140 South Van Ness Avenue
How Much: $2500/ month
The Hard Sell: "Expansive Western & Northern views including Twin Peaks, Sutro tower & city lights from both levels of the townhome." Not bad.
