Mayors, Gav, Ron Dellums (Oakland), and Chuck Reed (San Jose) are ganging up for green. "Either we do it or we do not survive," says a dire Dellums— all have agreed to promote programs that encourage citizens to take public transportation, install solar panels, build wind farms in their back yards— you know, simple stuff like that. At the bottom line, all hope to build a new sub-economy around these green initiatives by training locals for eco-friendly jobs. [SF Gate]
