UN Plaza Art Kids: Another Mid-Market Win

The Mid-Market area's de facto blight redevelopment non-plan seems to be chugging along rather smoothly. Latest news: the San Francisco Art Institute is expanding down south from its safe Russian Hill headquarters to 50,000 square feet in 10 United Nations Plaza. An infusion of flush art students could really speed along the changes that have already been set for the Civic Center/Mid-Market area, from the closing of Secrets to the (eventual) opening of the CityPlace mall. Curbed predicts a matching influx of Wifi cafes in the immediate vicinity, longer lines at Pearl Paint and even more loitering at UN Plaza. If Dov Charney knows what's good for him, that Union Square American Apparel will be up and running real soon...
