One Market Plans to Pretty Up

One Market's the latest building to join the re-retail scene, following in the footsteps of the Ferry Building and, more recently, the Metreon.

Today's San Francisco Business Times reports on a $30 million "retail makeover," put together by design firm SmithGroup, that will "break up the massive and poorly utilized lobby with up to 30 new retail and food tenants, install shops with greater street appeal, and spruce up the exterior."

Sound familiar? "It also creates a concourse that leads from Spear Street to an indoor pavilion." Times are tough, but there's no better economic stimulus than enticing people to come out and share their cash! Owners Paramount Group and Morgan Stanley are shooting for new tenants by 2010.
