Barbie Gets Inked

But not everyone is excited about it

One of the latest collectible Barbies is causing quite a controversy among some parents because of her appearance. But this time, it has nothing to do with body image.

The new Tokidoki Barbie has several body tattoos around her collarbone, arm and down her back. She sports a pink bob, leopard leggings, skull-heart top and a totally cool dog named Bastardino. (Just envision the pink wig Britney Spears wore when she was a little out of it.)

This isn't the first time Barbie has dabbled with some ink.

Just a few years ago, the "Totally Stylin Tattoos Barbie" was released, but the tattoos on this doll were temporary.

And in 1999, the Butterfly Art Barbie also received complaints. In fact, according to Time.com, both of those Barbies were pulled from the market -- which, of course, drove up the price for those that were available.

Tokidoki Barbie is designed by the Italian-based, Japanese-inspired brand Tokidoki.

Now, if you follow the world of one of the most popular dolls, you know Barbie isn't a stranger to controversy. She has been criticized for her small waist, belly-baring outfits and perky you-know-what.

But you won't find this Barbie sitting on shelves at Walmart or Toys "R" Us. The doll isn't even featured on Mattel.com's Barbie section.

She is sold exclusively at Barbiecollector.com, which caters to adult collectors, and is currently sold out. If you want one, you won't find it at that nice $50 price tag. If you check auctions sites such as eBay, the doll is reaching prices upwards of 200 bucks.

And to illustrate her popularity -- collectible Barbie dolls designed by the likes of Christian Louboutin and Bob Mackie are still available.
