You can't beat free. Especially if it gets you all amped up on natural sugar.

The makers of high fructose corn syrup may be making a public relations push to change their products image but Pepsi is not waiting around for things to get better.

The soda company is starting to sweeten some of its drinks, such as Sierra Mist, with real sugar instead of the syrupy corn stuff that people are so worried about.

To get the word about the "healthier" new alternative, Pepsi will give away 10 million free cases of Sierra Mist Natural away at 2,800 Walmart locations across the country, including the Bay Area. Because the first thing to come to mind when you think healthy is Walmart.

Pepsi is making the move as soda sales across the country are declining. Some analysts believe part of the lower sales can be blamed on fears over the possible long term health ramifications of high fructose corn syrup.
