SFO Flights to Mexico and Canada Could Get Cheaper

Planning a trip to Mexico or Canada? You might want to wait on buying your tickets.

Flights two America's two neighboring countries could soon become cheaper out of San Francisco International Airport.

Wednesday the San Francisco Airport Commission approved a measure to cut operating fees for airlines flying in out and out of SFO to Mexico and Canada.

The hope is the lower fees will be passed onto customers and attract more business to the airport.

Officials proposed to cut carrier fees to the two countries from $1,500 to between $450 and $580.

The savings may not only translate to lower fares for SFO passengers but the commission hopes it will also attract more airlines to operate out of San Francisco.
