Siebel-Newsom Stumps for Levis on 5/01

The last time we can remember Siebel-Newsom wearing jeans.

San Francisco's first lady (and de facto fashion diplomat) Jennifer Siebel-Newsom will be traipsing on denim down a publicity gauntlet at the Castro street Levi's today, urging folks to donate their used jeans.

It's all part of local clothing brand Levi's "501 Day" promotion is urging charity and offering discounts.

The benefit will support Goodwill, which is a great place to look for Siebel-Newsom's fashion mistakes in the coming weeks.

Bring in a pair of old jeans to the Castro or Union Square Levi's and you can wrangle a discount on a new pair.

And just in case Siebel Newsom was worried that the rain would scare off the paparazzi, Levi's is promising free lunch to the press.

Well played -- if there's anything the press loves more than cheap jeans and free food, I'm not sure what it is. Photo by Franco Folini.
