eBay for the Jet Set

New site offers jets, yachts, and other items for online sale

Craigslist and eBay are soooo proletarian--no one will ever bid serious money on one's Gulfstream jet.

That's why a new site called JamesList has been established, allowing the super-rich to shop online without having to rub virtual elbows with the riff raff that frequent less elite online shopping sites.

"JamesList brings selected luxury goods from dealers around the world to your fingertips. JamesList is a marketplace, connecting buyers and sellers," is how the company describes itself.

Some featured items for sale:

  • a Boeing 737 jet (price available upon request)
  • a Bugatti Veyron sports car for $1.4 million
  • a Patek-Phillipe wristwatch for $66,000
  • a Riva 75 Venere yacht for $4 million

JamesList is based in Stockholm, Sweden and derives its revenue from ad sales on its site. It's comforting to know that someone is out there stimulating the economy, because we were starting to worry about the welfare of the stupendously wealthy.

Is there free shipping on that yacht? If one has to ask such a gauche question, you can't afford it.
