Description of Monday Muni Stabber Familiar

The description of a man who stabbed a Muni-passenger Monday morning is eerily familiar to San Francisco police.

Monday around 10:30 a.m. a woman riding an outbound J-Church train was stabbed by a fellow passenger.

The victim was taken to SF General for treatment and was said to be listed in stable condition.

The suspect got away.

He is described as a black man wearing all black with a big beard and body odor.  That is the same general description of a man who stabbed a 11 year old boy a couple of months ago.  That suspect was never caught.

Police on the scene said they noticed the similarity in descriptions, but said there was no way to know if it is the same man.

Muni trains have cameras, so police are checking whether the crime was caught on tape.  They say there are several witnesses who were on the train at the time who saw what happened.

Muni shut down service for awhile and replaced with a bus bridge through the area so that police could investigate.  Normal service  resumed by 12:30 p.m.

Muni has been in the news in recent months for a variety of fights on trains.  Below is one example of how things can get out of hand.
