It's Beginning To Look....

A big storm is taking aim at the Sierra and the timing couldn't be better for the big Tahoe ski resorts.

Even before the weatherman could spit out his snowy forecast, Heavenly, Mt. Rose, Northstar and Squaw all announced lifts would be open for business beginning Friday.

The weather system is a strong one and will hit just in time for the pre-holiday weekend.

A winter storm watch has been called with a foot and a half of snow predicted to fall in the higher elevations.

The timing will be bad for the drive, so take your chains.  Winds will also be a factor so be ready to hang on to that wheel.

For the record: Boreal has been open for weeks. Sugar Bowl is scheduled to open the day before Thanksgiving.
