A Bay Area Rapid Transit employee was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a BART train near the Concord Station, a BART spokesman said.
BART spokesman Linton Johnson said said a trackside crewmember was hit and killed at about 9:30 a.m.
BART police and the agency's safety department are continuing an investigation, he said.
Train service between the Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Concord stations was still disrupted late Monday morning, and BART had set up a bus bridge for passengers.
BART said County Connection buses will honor BART tickets.
The coroner said it cannot confirm that it was called out to the scene.
A single train from Lafayette to the Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill stations was expected to run before noon, Allison said
