Rain, Wind Expected to Pick Up in Bay Area During the Next Few Days

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the San Francisco Bay Area Sunday morning.

Officials said inclement weather could last through the early part of this week and travelers should use caution due to moderate to heavy rain in some areas.

As rain is expected to continue throughout Sunday, motorists are advised to slow down and use caution while on wet roadways.

Highs on Sunday are expected to be in the lower 60s with southerly winds up to 20 mph. Lows are expected to be in the mid-50s, with southeasterly winds up to 20 mph.

Rain and mostly cloudy skies are likely Monday morning. Highs are expected to be in the mid-60s, with easterly winds of up to 15 mph.

Officials said minor urban flooding may be possible in some areas, especially Monday through Tuesday.

Strong winds reaching 50 mph could hit coastal areas during the next few days.

The bad weather and high winds are also affecting flights arriving at San Francisco International Airport.

The FAA website said some arriving flights are being delayed by nearly three hours. Passengers are being asked to check with their airline for updates.
