Weather Video Forecast

High pressure providing more heat to our inland valleys, and contributing to increased fire danger with low humidity levels and daily afternoon breezes. While winds will pick up for the afternoon, it won't be enough to prevent levels of ground level ozone from reaching unhealthy levels in the East Bay Valleys, therefore a Spare the Air Day is in effect for Tuesday. Temps should begin to cool slowly for the second half of the week as high pressure weakens and moves slightly to the east, allowing the marine layer to deepen to provide more cooling inland. One item to watch may be an influx of mid-level moisture from thunderstorms in the Desert SW, SE California. As of now most of this should stay to the east of the Bay Area, mainly over Kern County into the Southern Sierra, but needs to be monitored for lightning/fire start potential.
