There are some signs we should begin to see some cooling today, especially near the coast and bay. The marine layer is deepening up above 1,000 ft. and onshore winds should increase later in the day. Coast and bay highs will still reach the 60s to 80s, but should run a few degrees cooler than Friday. Our inland valleys on the other hand will see another hot afternoon with highs in the 90s and nearing 100 in the hottest spots inland around the Tri-Valley and Delta. Temps should drop a few degrees inland on Sunday as onshore winds slowly increase and we get extra high and mid level clouds moving in from the south. These clouds will be part of a another surge of monsoon moisture out of the Desert Southwest that will bring an increasing chance for thunder in the Sierra and possibly some showers on the coastal range to our south. We'll keep an eye on things to see if these showers make it as far north as the Bay Area early next week.Rob Mayeda
