High pressure strengthening has compressed the marine layer down to just below 750 feet early Sunday morning. This has caused areas of thick fog in spots near the coast and bay with some mist, and hints at a warmer afternoon for inland locations away from the water.Highs will be in the 80s to upper 90s for the warmest spots around the Tri Valley and locations south of San Jose. Our mostly sunny skies will begin to fill with high clouds moving in from the southeast and mid-level moisture begins heading into Northern California.Fog and low clouds will continue to keep temps cooler near the coastline, but inland valleys will see temps climbing into the 80s and 90s again for Monday. As more mid-level moisture streams in, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies at times for Monday with a slight risk for isolated thunder along the coastal range mountains, and a much better chance for thunder across the Sierra. Cooler and breezy conditions return on Tuesday with locally gusty winds at times heading into Tuesday evening.- Rob Mayeda
